Tackling some mid-summer walleyes with big swimbaits, paired with Smeltinator Underspins. Gotta love it!

  1. I live in windy Wyoming where non windy days are not the normal. You're correct, a pole mount when spot locked is absolutely the best option. The trolling motor is constantly moving and working hard keeping positioned. It's so windy in Wyoming that I wore the brushes out on my Minn Kota Terrova 24v 80lb thrust in three years. I haven't used it motor mounted wishing I could. Keep up the good work with your videos.

  2. Heading to Rainy next week. Can you share your rod and line set up when using large swim baits? I have some 3/8 Smeltinators with 3/0 hooks. Are those about right using Candy Eye plastics? Is color critical in jig head and plastic? Great video!

  3. It's almost like you were sight fishing smallies on the rocks. What depth do you generally use these baits for walleyes? I want to fish like this when the wind has blown or is blowing into the rocks, but always feel like I'm wasting my time casting (as opposed to trolling or slip bobbering) for walleyes. Don't have spot lock or FF sonar. Great point about the need for boat control vs. fishing where you'd rather fish. If it makes sense and it does… FUNNEST IS a word.

  4. I always enjoy your videos if you have trouble or not, I've got underspins but haven't used them next time out I'll give it a good start, thank you for you and thank God for everything
