I was born and raised in Chicago, but after working 12 years in the financial Industry regulating the futures and options markets at the CME/CBOT I decided to pursue my passion fishing professional tournaments and left my full time corporate job. At that point, I moved to Junction City, WI with my wife Sara and two boys Hank and Duke. I’ve been fishing professionally since 2011 and full-time since 2015. I’ve qualified for six MLF Championships and won roughly a half million in tournament winnings at the professional level.
Do this alot and Yes it helps even around heavy coverage 👍
So, Tackle Warehouse became aware of a data breach in October 2021 and they are informing me today, April 2022? 7 months????
Got an email today: On October 15, 2021, Tackle Warehouse, LLC (“Tackle Warehouse”) became aware of a potential data security incident. They got an old expired Credit card of mine, name, address, etc…
great idea to use ,will do. thanks matt.
Any tips on fishing the french fry?
Have you ever tried using fly fishing glue by Loon Outdoors if you don’t have any soft plastic glue?
Nice tip I like where you put the rattle in the tail
Awesome tip
Thanks for the advice. How do you rig the hollow body swimbait
Do you do guide trips?
I’ve fished in he basstrix for a long time. You taught me something today. No idea why I didn’t know this. Great job.
What lure/presentation would you suggest for a lake where the bass’ primary diet is yellow perch?
Gooood solid advice!!! I have the 3 and 4 mm size glass beads, which I put in some worms and creature baits, never thought about puttting them in the swim baits. I order mine off Amazon – soooo mich cheeeeper than BPS or the other big online tackle folks.
Pretty sweet. Gotta search the gear for a rattle….I've got the minnow color Berkeley in the video.
I'm not sure why, but I must admit that puckered up a bit when you jammed that rattle up its ass.
Great video , great information will try this.
Smart tip, Matt. Bait-rattles may sound subtle and not so easy for US to hear through the air, but bass have keen hearing and sound is louder and travels further underwater. Anxious to try your tip.
great tip
How do you weight these swimbaits with a line thru?
I like this one….I've done it with worms but never thought of the swim bait with a rattle. Thanks for the tips, tricks and secrets it really helps out us regular anglers. I got to your channel on a recommendation from Randy….glad I did. Your sponsors are spending their money wisely. 👍👍👍
Randy sent me over
Thanks, Matt 👍
what size grass rattles do you prefer for a 3.8, 4.3 length? thx
Very cool tip Matt…..simple yet makes a lot of sense!! Thanks for the tip as always!!
Not really needed if u buy Berkeley swim baits as they are engineered for the tail movement. Anytime, u start messing around with lures on your own, you are defeating all the research and experimentation that companies put in before making a retail version. I use Berkeley swim baits on their own (straight out of the plastic) and always catch something regardless of water depth and weather. You don't need sinkers if u use the right oz for the lure.
Do you make a whole for air to escape and collapse the bait? I thought that was why they put a hole back there.
Will be trying your great tip in about 2 week.
Love the tips. This will be great for my lake which is typically a little stained.
MEK or methyl ethyl keytone, works great as a soft plastic glue as well… it works the same way. And you can get it at your local hardware store for cheap!
Hey Matt love your stuff…i have a box of beat up frogs from those Mississippi Dogfish they either take water on or don't swim right..do you ever use this glue on your frogs to seal? Any tips for fixing a sinker? Or to help them swim right again?
I thought of that about 2 years ago and started doing it because that wagging tail works even better on a swimbait than a regular soft plastic. Have you experimented with storing Mend-it at room temp vs. refrigerated vs. frozen, to see which last longest? I have Aquaseal glue for my wader hole repairs and they say it stores best frozen. I won’t buy Mend-it until I have enough torn baits accumulated to use at least most of the bottle.
Your channel is so underated , great tip as always . I'll try that tip for sure once ice is gone . THX !
