You want to see a monster, check out the Nile Perch.
Michigan fisherman here. You had me at "they have a tendency of destroying your fishing gear when they strike." Sold. They have been on my fishing bucket list for a while and I may have an opportunity in the slightly near future to go to Florida and fish for these bad boys. Love your channel I came across it randomly and have gone down the rabbit hole. I am a huge fan of your "WWWUUUUNNN DAYYYY!" videos and love seeing the smaller more practical builds. I especially liked seeing the famed Whoopy Plooper.
I've experienced the peer pressure you speak of good sir. Accept here its bowfin, ppl here call them Grinnell or mudfish, and they hate them. Personally, I think they're fun to catch- but the bass fisherman don't like them wrecking their lures, feeding on game fish, and most of all- fooling them into thinking they've just hooked the bass of a lifetime- only to find it's a bowfin. They get just as upset about drums, who do the same things basically- but they usually don't kill them for some reason. They kill every bowfin they catch, and get mad at you if you don't. And as far as I know, they're native here- they've been here for a very long time if they're not. They don't seem to care one way or the other about carp, they don't feed on game fish and they don't bite lures so, they don't bother anyone. I've seen catfish anglers get upset with them- but I'm not sure why, they don't eat cattish bait either- right? I think they're vegetarians. We're just now starting to get the invasive Asian species in northern parts of the state- hopefully they can control it- somehow. Once they get into the Tenn. river system, which they already are- they're trying to keep them from moving south though- they can get into about everything else. The BCDA lakes are all connected to the Tenn. river, and all our other big lakes are part of the river system itself so- we're likely already screwed. Just a matter of time before they break containment and finish what they started. Then everyone will be killing carps, period- ppl here are not good at nuance. "Looks Asian to me, give it a math problem."
Sexy lure, good job. Now that's been 4 months, how about you try it?
1:12 we all heard the chair lol
idk if youve done it by now, but i had the idea to make lexan box and half submerge it in the test tank for a gopro to record underwater action. it should record way clear
We used to have to do that with northern pike in my area. They completely overtook one of the lakes and for like a decade you werent permitted to catch and release northern pike.
It’s been about 4 months brother
They are extremely aggressive. If you use a jerk bait in a pond in sfl, you’ll soon know if there’s peas in there. They hit like freight trains. ❤️ em.
Really great how the steel pole holder is gone and the bolt studs are sticking for someome to put thru their boot or trip on, you would think they would bolt down with anchors or cut them off, lazy city workers!
Great job, I love how you centered the middle stripe on the hinge section, reall hides the gap, excellent, brains?
{Not quite related to YOUR … typical bass.} I still want to see a fresh water Tuna. https://youtu.be/yQIZ6LgStas?si=TXfJAum5BBadkQwL … & then this guy … https://youtu.be/wl4sM3kgvRg?si=Y5rIW33HmpBKub_q … My PB tuna (Bluefin) went 40 pounds on a "flylined" live Sardine (just a straight hook), using 40 pound test Berkley Vanish fluorocarbon and a 2/0 "Owner" live bait hook, Penn 555 graphite reel and a Calstar 7' deckhand rod 20~50 pound test, fishing out of San Diego. That was in September 2020.
13:00 why does it sound like he's cutting an apple with a butter knife
Love the theme video… my firts fish was a tucunaré… In manaus, when I was 5
3:22 as a midwestern fisherman, I just wish I could catch regular bass
I have to give you a big up for pronouncing it right
Tukunari❤
Star wars!!!!!!
Wish I could leave more likes and subs.
how are you able to use a knife so accurately? whenever i do what your doing, it ends up just taking a big chunk out of the wood. even with new sharp blades.
Come to Colombia and you may catch Peacocks even bigger than those of Paraná River.
If you had peacock bass in your area, they'd be trying to mate with this lure instead of eating it! It's f🤬cking phenomenal, Nate!!! 🤌🏾💪🏾👍🏾
Every "Zombie" fish is gonna be after that bait because… wait for it… BRAINS!!!
I caught some in Panama. They really do fight hard for their size, and truly are a beautiful fish
“Welcome to central Iowa in some guys garage”
I love the brain and shark bite. It's the closest thing I have seen to a zombie fish. I have always wondered what a zombie fish would look like. Have you ever done a monkfish lure?
this video genuinely has the best like to dislike ratio i have ever seen
So coooooooll
Peacock bass is on my bucket list. I’ve been wanting to catch one since i saw jimmy Houston fish for them 25 years ago
Liked the little facecam bit
Those amazonian cannibal tribes would bite your arm off for that lure. 😂
When using this new drill bit method to creat the slot for the side fins. Slap a piece of masking tape over the wood so you don’t scuff the bait. No need for additional sanding. Though I know you love sanding
