Dobyns Fury 795sb Swimbait Rod Review

My take on the Fury 795 swimbait model by Dobyns Rods. I have it paired with the Okuma Citrix 350 spooled with 20lb Seaguar Invisx or 20lb Izorline platinum. This is a great rod for fishing a Deps 175, Huddleston 6inch/68 special, S-Waver 200, Whopper Plopper 190, and most gill-style baits.
This rod can be purchased for 119.99$ on Dobynsrods.com or Tacklewarehouse.com

  1. 2-5 OZ hard baits which rod would you choose? I’m leaning towards either the 795, 806, 836 I see a lot of “the 795 is over powered over 3oz” then I also read a lot of “806 & 836 throw down to 2 oz” I’ve been doing research for the past week & I can’t decide, any advice?

  2. Great video Brent! Would you say the tip on these Dobyns swimbait rods are softer than the tips on the standard champion series? Just wanted to be sure these swimbait rods won't rip out treble hooks especially if I was using braid.

  3. Last rod for the season will be the FR795; I have a new Curado K; do you think I can pair them up for baits below 2.5 Oz ? I really don’t want to get another reel at this time

  4. If you like the FR795SB…You're going to absolutely LOVE the FR806SB, paired mine with a Diawa Tatula 200HD and it's lethal combination!!

  5. How does this rod load up? I'm looking at this for things like hardgills, swavers, slammers etc. Also how accurate is the rating? I currently am using the okuma guide select H and just want something a little different, I feel like that rod maxes out around or even a little before 4oz comfortably.
