My top 3 modifications for a Huddleston swimbait. Add gills, modify the fins, and a softer tail for a more life-like look and more action even in the coldest water.

Interesting . Thankyou for the tips I’m going to give these a try on some old huds before I mangle a new one . Happy fishing
One additional thing I do is on the side fins, I add super glue to the joint and let it dry with the fins outward. This gives those fins the ability to flutter more, where if they are just cut, any movement will suck them into the side of the bait
Natural trout have complete intact fins, if you guys have wild trout in your lakes n rivers then don’t cut up the fins thinking it’s gonna get you more bites. If you’re fishing stocked trout then go ahead and cut them if it gives you that much more confidence
Interesting and cool! Does make it more realistic looking…
