I was born and raised in Chicago, but after working 12 years in the financial Industry regulating the futures and options markets at the CME/CBOT I decided to pursue my passion fishing professional tournaments and left my full time corporate job. Great tip! I do some of my own softplastic and have the same thinking. I use big flakes but fewer to get more "big but indevidual" flashes. Got the ide from when I fished roach for craw fish bait. 🙂

Bass pro sells all this stuff and so does amazon. I’m currently in the process of tying my own bucktails and that’s where I bought everything.
I thread rubber skirt legs into plastics to give a ned legs sometimes, a lizard red gills, stuff like that.- tinsel hack on minnowbaits looks solid. yeah, i live near the farmington, great flyshop up in newhtfd. got all this stuff- i always raid their bargain bin for customization bits.

Matt i was just thinking if fish eat out of hunger or aggression , just speaking for myself i dont care if the sprinkles on the cupcake are red green or yellow if im hungry im eating.The same if some one is agrivating me i dont care if he is wearing a cowboy hat or a baseball cap he is getting hit. lol

They need to make a glue that won’t interfere with the movement so you can sprinkle you favorite glitter on it

This is a cool idea and my only question is once these strands are threaded through do they interfere with a hover rig or a jig head once they are put on? Do these strands get pulled a bit? Just curious and thanks for sharing this with us Matt!

Great tip. I've used chartreuse marabou in the boot tail (short strands) and it works great and doesn't seem to interfere with the action

Cool idea, Matt I have seen your builds videos but now that old man winter it's got you I think maybe a two or three part video on a rod build from A to Z not skipping a step would be very cool just thinking but of course that's up to your available time 👍

Man I've been doing that for years sometimes I will have a spinnerbait and the skirt go bad and I will just take a big needle and put it through swimbaits or big worms or Cinco's and it has worked perfect for me for I've been doing it for 2 or 3 years
