You can also use a regular jig head, cut the hook off and leave the shank. Super glue the shank in the bait and you can also super glue the treble hook in the bait.
feel like someone just make a video just like this
Definitely a great technique. 6th Sense Fishing makes a line through swimbait head for top hooking.. Comes in a good range of sizes too.
Randy, I'm hoping Picasso or any maker puts out a keeper head with a flat line tie soon. But for top hooking line-throughs. I add a splitring to do so, but they have that sharp "split" that's not good for the line. Maybe Megabass will come out with that simple modification for keeper heads. Test it out for yourself, tell em about if its as much a game changer as i think its been for me.
I love seeing stuff Ive done for myself eventually coming out on the market.
Sixth Sense makes a neat line through swimbait head. Have em on tackle warehouse
Went to a walleye fish fry today at the shop I used to work at. The father/son that supplied the fish were still fishing on lake St. Claire but for musky now. They’ve been using large swim baits and showed me a picture of a twenty pound and a twelve pound fish!!👍
Or make your own. Use a cheap ball head jig cut the hook off but leave a little tag end of the hook then get a old piece of a spring from a pen and thread it on there use the hook tag end as a guide for the spring when tying the line I use 20lb fluro had luck with 12 but end up loosing the fish if it has teeth like pike.
Been using this for the past year and I got my first pike on this set up using over 3 of your video tips.
I think this guy took a shot at you Randy https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7cX7MzrK-_s
Savage gear makes the best line thru's I've personally used
How long will the soft plastic last if you keep poking into it with the hook? Some soft plastics like Keitech are quite fragile.
6 sense has a line through head like that's better you rig on the top or bottom.
I like to see a line though swimbait, really similar, almost never lose a fish. I’m going to try that red hook.
only a handful? i must be part of that group bc i’ve been using a line through swimbait rig for awhile and i catch a lot of good quality fish.
