How to Rig Swimbaits on Jigheads

Smallmouth bass season is almost upon us here on Lake St Clair and it’s time to get that gear ready. Both early spring smallmouth and largemouth bass love the swimbait, but what’s the best jighead type to use? Is it the traditional keeper style or screwlocks?

SPOILER ALERT! It ISN’T the traditional style…

This episode will show you how to get the MOST out of your swimbait jigheads regardless of which style you choose! I’ll show you a unique hack I’m certain you’ll appreciate.

And all swimbaits are NOT created equal. Check out the Keitech brand in the Smallmouth Magic color. You’ll be glad you did. Like always, we get you into the newest gear and trends, we don’t simply follow them!

  1. Keitech baits are soft and tear easily no matter what kind of jig you use. Great colors but not built to last . I prefer the wire keepers and a dab of super glue . Quick and easy . the screw lock still going to put a big hole inside the plastic . Personally I prefer the little wire and plastic baits that are more durable than keitech

  2. Why would anybody screw a bait on keepers? Just push it in and it'll lock in itself. You don't have to screw in a bait and waste more time and it still end up like it would if it was on a keeper jighead. It's a sale tactic to crap on another brand and point out an issue that isn't to justify why their jighead is better. The jighead I use has keepers on it works perfectly fine
