The bite is on fire!! Bass are schooled up on Summer spots and theyāre chewing! Come along for an awesome afternoon as Matt smashes fish with swimbaits, jigs, and underspins!
When we talk about getting out when its hot, this is the kind of bite weāre looking for! Summer bass can be very aggressive when theyāre in schools. The key is knowing where to look for these groups of fish, and what baits to throw at them. These particular fish were targeting Threadfin Shad and the bite was on!
Below youāll find links to the exact baits and gear Matt used throughout the day. Weāve included the exact sizes and colors for each lure, as well as the key rods that helped get these fish in the boat.

What body of water is that??
Just gotta fight the heat lol
The last week or so Iāve been destroying them with a psycho trout in 3 feet of waterā¦
Did you see the fish before throwing the burrito on the deep main lake point?
Nice to see someone catching fish without staring at a screen!
Fantastic day on the water! How long of a leader do you tie?
The eyes on my 5" burrito fell off the first cast.
I would like you to come fish Norfork Lake in Arkansas and make a video
3:48 that set was crazy your face said it all then he double back an hit an that second set

Hey Matt ! Love your videos, been plugging away on my local lake here in northern ca, with big swimbaits in the deep channels and road beds. Do u think summer time in deep water is a good time to fish ultra slow with a 68 hud creeping bottom? The water is crystal clear and deep! Just trying to get some pointers and find out your thoughts ?! The lake is typically stocked with rainbow trout.
I was wondering why you called the bait burrito? Did you give it that name or does it come in the package called burrito? I want to try that bait at my uncles lake where he lives in Kentucky!
It's 112 degrees here and this video inspired me to go out and find them. Caught 7 over 5 lbs back to back on a big swim jig. Awesome vid. Thanks
Lol I love how he just throws em back so casual shit has me dying
Hey man good video but I have a question. Doesn't it all fall on finding the fish then the frenzy begins? That's always been my luck then of course what they want they most at the time
You need more rods
Great video Matt. That burrito is awesome.
Looked like a fun day! Tx here, so I get fishing in the heat

I fished the wild west bass tour for a few events. It started with Gary Dobyns, znd sold a few years later. Gone down hill since, and I've since moved to Florida. But for a while it was a legit bass circuit with some real hammers, but now it's a laughing joke.. which sucks for California and west coast cause not many circuits are available with actual coverage and recognition
Hey Matt, Iām having my line burn when speed cranking, have you ever heard of this, and is there anything that can be done differently
Weāre not all professionals bro
I wanted to say thanks to Tim for me using my spinning rods again. I was so tired of line twist that I put all my spinning gear on the porch. I could not tie an FC knot consistently so I used straight flouro. I thought I will go to TB and see which knot they use a couple of weeks ago. Tim explained how & why he uses a double uni knot. Bingo. All of my spinning gear is braid with a leader now and I love my spinning rods again. TB has helped me in so many ways. Thanks guys.
My last tourney, the water temp was 94, crazinessā¦just fishing in a hot tub basically.
very good vidja
New follower nice video!

when will be the best fishing time of the year at clear lake, we want to plan a trip but donāt wanna get skunked
What a day
I never catch fish on the flats probably because I have no confidence doing it and donāt give them a lot of attention. Maybe do a when and how on flats video.
wow very very nice video

What kind of knot are you using?
Wicket Matt ! Love your videos Iām aways waiting for the next one
Canāt wait to get my xpride back. Broke a rod guide smh
It would be great if you would show your graph every now and then to show us the structure to look for. I know you said a main lake point but long-gradual or fast drop? ThT kind of thing would be helpful
When can we get some more story type videos? If I am correct there are two baits in the shadow box that we never got stories behind.
After watching countless TB videos, I've learned to judge the size of the fish by the laugh that Matt gives after the hookset. Great work Matt as always a ton of fun!
You should do a video with my uncle or dad Josh is my dad and my uncle is Marco that would be crazy
I see that most of the fishing you and Tim do is braid to leader, do yāall not break off leader knots. If not, what knot do yāall tie
Matt you mentioned you had a blade bait tied on in the beginning of the video. Under what circumstances would you have picked it up and used it? Thank you for all your knowledge and hard work to help us all out
Putting tires on you're wife's car 845.00 dollars
Buying her a milkshake while waiting for tires. 6 dollars.
Gas to fill up her car because she never does 47.00 dollars.
Coming home and finding your tackle warehouse purchase has arrived. 367.00 dollars.
Your wife's face when you show her you spent 74.99 on a tactical wake 210 . Priceless.
Definitely some fun times, love how you kept fishing and just avoided the storms. Quick questions would the expride 7'6" Heavy Fast work for throwing the burrito and Carolina rig? Or is the 7'7" the better option?
Im convinced, the worse the weather the better the fishingā¦1 of my best days crankin', it was snowing all day
@tacticalbassin honestly Iāve never heard of this lure. Does this sink on its own as soon as it hits the water?
I love fishing as those summer storms/rains roll in, and I have always thought that the barometric pressure has something to do with it.. What do you think Matt
I can tell you some of the most epic days Iāve had fishing was just before a rain or storm, and Iām talking over 50 years it rarely fails, and then thereās times right after the rain, and even during

what a great place to live

What was the rod you used for the jig at the end? Usually, you use the Brailist but that rod had a split handle so it couldn't be the Brailist.
Very good
How long of a leader?
What knot are you using on for rhe swimsuits and do you have a tutorial for it
I wish, when your offshore like this, with the burrito or whatever, you'd say in XX ft of water and slow rolling on the bottom or whatever your doing. You don't have to get into a full on lesson but just in general quickly, so we could try to replicate it. I'm in Arkansas with super sharp shorelines , where in alot of cases, you go 20 ft off shore and your in 30+ ft of water, and it keeps going like that to 200+ ft in many places. My boat isn't a super fast boat, so I stay on the lower end of the lake, relatively close to the dam, the majority of time with deep, clear water. Winter, I wreck em, summer, not so much. I still stick good jig fish on deep brush and bluff walls, and have times when cranking fires em up, but it's not consistent the way you guys stick fish.
Just got my first burrito yesterday and trying to catch my first fish on it. Any suggestions on weather to throw the 5in or 6in. Or even when to throw the nacho. Thanks for the help!!!
