Summer SWIMBAIT And JIG Fishing! We're Getting Bit EVERY Cast! 🔥🔥

The bite is on fire!! Bass are schooled up on Summer spots and they’re chewing! Come along for an awesome afternoon as Matt smashes fish with swimbaits, jigs, and underspins!

When we talk about getting out when its hot, this is the kind of bite we’re looking for! Summer bass can be very aggressive when they’re in schools. The key is knowing where to look for these groups of fish, and what baits to throw at them. These particular fish were targeting Threadfin Shad and the bite was on!

Below you’ll find links to the exact baits and gear Matt used throughout the day. We’ve included the exact sizes and colors for each lure, as well as the key rods that helped get these fish in the boat.

  1. Hey Matt ! Love your videos, been plugging away on my local lake here in northern ca, with big swimbaits in the deep channels and road beds. Do u think summer time in deep water is a good time to fish ultra slow with a 68 hud creeping bottom? The water is crystal clear and deep! Just trying to get some pointers and find out your thoughts ?! The lake is typically stocked with rainbow trout.

  2. I was wondering why you called the bait burrito? Did you give it that name or does it come in the package called burrito? I want to try that bait at my uncles lake where he lives in Kentucky!

  3. I fished the wild west bass tour for a few events. It started with Gary Dobyns, znd sold a few years later. Gone down hill since, and I've since moved to Florida. But for a while it was a legit bass circuit with some real hammers, but now it's a laughing joke.. which sucks for California and west coast cause not many circuits are available with actual coverage and recognition

  4. I wanted to say thanks to Tim for me using my spinning rods again. I was so tired of line twist that I put all my spinning gear on the porch. I could not tie an FC knot consistently so I used straight flouro. I thought I will go to TB and see which knot they use a couple of weeks ago. Tim explained how & why he uses a double uni knot. Bingo. All of my spinning gear is braid with a leader now and I love my spinning rods again. TB has helped me in so many ways. Thanks guys.

  5. It would be great if you would show your graph every now and then to show us the structure to look for. I know you said a main lake point but long-gradual or fast drop? ThT kind of thing would be helpful

  6. Matt you mentioned you had a blade bait tied on in the beginning of the video. Under what circumstances would you have picked it up and used it? Thank you for all your knowledge and hard work to help us all out

  7. Putting tires on you're wife's car 845.00 dollars
Buying her a milkshake while waiting for tires. 6 dollars.
Gas to fill up her car because she never does 47.00 dollars.
Coming home and finding your tackle warehouse purchase has arrived. 367.00 dollars.
Your wife's face when you show her you spent 74.99 on a tactical wake 210 . Priceless.

  8. Definitely some fun times, love how you kept fishing and just avoided the storms. Quick questions would the expride 7'6" Heavy Fast work for throwing the burrito and Carolina rig? Or is the 7'7" the better option?

  9. I love fishing as those summer storms/rains roll in, and I have always thought that the barometric pressure has something to do with it.. What do you think Matt 🤷🏻‍♂️ I can tell you some of the most epic days I’ve had fishing was just before a rain or storm, and I’m talking over 50 years it rarely fails, and then there’s times right after the rain, and even during 😉🍀🎣🍀 what a great place to live👊😎💯🍀🎣🍀

  10. I wish, when your offshore like this, with the burrito or whatever, you'd say in XX ft of water and slow rolling on the bottom or whatever your doing. You don't have to get into a full on lesson but just in general quickly, so we could try to replicate it. I'm in Arkansas with super sharp shorelines , where in alot of cases, you go 20 ft off shore and your in 30+ ft of water, and it keeps going like that to 200+ ft in many places. My boat isn't a super fast boat, so I stay on the lower end of the lake, relatively close to the dam, the majority of time with deep, clear water. Winter, I wreck em, summer, not so much. I still stick good jig fish on deep brush and bluff walls, and have times when cranking fires em up, but it's not consistent the way you guys stick fish.
