  1. 8 pound bass don't exist in Ohio?!

Idk about Ohio but I live in New Jersey, and our state isn't known for big bass either but my personal best bass is an oz off 10 pounds. I've caught 3 bass in my lifetime, that were what I call " the third class ". The first class, are the common, 1 to 3 pound bass, then you have the big ones that are 4 -6 pounds and there are the third class that you usually only see that are 6 to 10 pounds… The big female I caught wasn't even filled with eggs and our state record is somewhere between 10lb 10 oz, and 12 pounds I think. The lake I'm fishing at now has a 8 -10 pound fish that you see on the shore once in a while. There are big bass in Ohio, they just don't get big by biting fish hooks. I let all my fish go but I wish I had at least a picture of my 10 pounder. I caught her at 12am august 2011, didn't have my phone or any other way to take pictures. I thought about it for a while and almost killed her but i couldn't do it only for bragging rights. So i let her swim away…I got the memory that's all I need. Caught her on a 10.5 inch curly tail rigged weightless. I kept the mangled up worm as a reminded…what sucks is two years later some college student caught her ( supposedly foul hooked her ) but her took her home and mounted her. I stopped fishing that lake once I knew she wasn't in it anymore … It got so pressured after that as well. Its not the same lake it was back then…

  2. I used to fish farm ponds in western oklahoma and I guarantee you I could have caught bass at some of them on those it was ridiculous.. God I miss those ponds.. most dried up and total fish kill with bass up to 10lbs or bigger… was very sad lol..
