Chatterbaits are excellent bass fishing baits. They are also called bladed jigs or vibrating jigs, and are used frequently by bass anglers. Z-man chatterbaits are the most common and the original chatterbaits, but other bladed jigs are available too, like the Strike King Thunder Cricket. Here we use underwater slow-motion video to demonstrate how chatterbaits work, and tips and techniques to catch more bass with chatterbaits.

Bro I usually don’t comment on vids but this video was great! Clear concise descriptions and great underwater footage!
Bladed jigs are my favorite lure. Its nothing for me to hook up on my 3rd or 4th cast of the entire trip using one. Thats the only lure I've ever used where that regularly happens
I’ll start using this bad boy more often thank you
Anyone here have luck with chatter baits in SW FL?
So blue and black to imitate a blue? What kind of trailer is best
Best explanation!
Great straight forward video. Thank you
Can I use them river and why
Yo, I hate to admit this but the "jackhammer" version is far superior than the regular.
I can usually figure out a new lure with the help of the fish and I've got some chatterbaits coming in from ebay. The info I've learned from you and a few others has helped me with colors and presentation now I just need to wait for the river to come down a bit. I don't have much luck when the water is high. Do you have any hints for bank fishing with high water?
Love your videos man straight to the point . Hope you can expand out more with out the fake talk bs
I wonder what is the best skirt length? In other words: What skirt-to-trailer-ratio to choose for any given type of trailer?
That has to be one of the best and most informative videos I’ve seen. No stupid music, no mindless chatter. Thx
Wow u know yr sduff.
My favorite lure.
Thanks! New to chatterbait so this is very helpful!
One of the most informative & instructive videos concerning fishing I’ve seen! Great job!
Replacement arrived!By the way, I did forget to mention that the original lure did have a decent strike however as most anglers will attest you can get a hit https://www.youtube.com/post/UgkxCbNOWAGmn6nfbCbJDmasvBq7J38KZNw2 and fish will hang on and release lure. I used the replacement lure yesterday and ran thru a Shimano Waxwing, Kastmaster, Bobber (set to sink). I found the does run deep (I casting on the flats 3.5'). Make sure you adjust your rate of retrieve and rod tip angle (up) to prevent getting snagged on bottom. Used it a couple of times and action was very lifelike (looked like local bait fish for trevally), craftsmanship very good….however eyeball fell out. I asked for replacement and it is on it's way! It was very easy to change out treble to single inline hook.
Great video, appreciate the uw scene to see how they actually moved with different trails.👌
Great video, right to the point.
Do i have to use one of my swimbait things with a chatter or no
Best video , great to point. And awesome underwater.
Does your chatter bait shake your rods while retrieving? New angler here
This is the best video I have watched on chatterbait fishing, and trust me, I've watched a lot.
No bullshit, just video and tips.
Great job!
Try Blue Rock lures they make a great chatter bait!
Great info in this video.
Like 'em…no treble hooks
What about the Strike King Rage Blade?
Great tip
Best straightforward chatterbait video out there
Went fishing last Sunday. 4-20-23. It's 5 o'clock and it's partly cloudy and the winds blowing 20 to 25 mph . South to the North. I am fishing a triangle shaped 3 acre pond. My reel is a Quantum KVD Smoke S3 PT reel 6 to1. 30pd Suffix braiding moss green. The rod is a Berkley Cherrywood HD MH 7' baitcaster. Got around to the north side and it's 75 degrees. I am using a 1/2 oz White and CHARTREUSE skirted with a White StrikeKing swimbait trailer. Garlic CHARTREUSE Spike it on the legs. I caught 17 Largemouth in 17 casts. It lasted about 20 minutes. Then The " Flurry " ended. But, It was a great 20 minutes. The biggest was 3.5 pounds. Yes, The Chatterbait is a great bait anytime. Shawn.
I just started throwing Chatterbaits this year, but I haven't had any luck yet. I get bites on my Spinnerbaits, but they don't seem to like the Chatterbaits in my lake.
Bouncing chatters off debris is dangerous , you can easily snag that hook because it’s bare and sticking so far up , I don’t recommend bottom fishing with them either , other than that I’d say this video is great , just don’t forget that the bare hook like that is always waiting to get snagged
Great tips!
r these good for peacock bass
Excellent video!
Do you think 🤔 a chatter bait can be fished vertically? I jig for Lake Trout in 100 feet of water. Lakers chase lures retrieved straight up and I'd like to add a chatter blade to my 2 ounce marabou jigs and crank them straight up. Will 2 oz be too heavy for the blade to impart action?
I find so many Lures in The Wisconsin River when I Dive.😊 So cool!! Your videos are so Amazing!
For us , learning these things are very useful, even so there is more trout and salmon on pacific NWest than bass * what's really counts is your professional presentation- rest will come with practicing @ site, many thanks for your dedicated video 👍👍👍
I love your format of videos with the underwater footage. I am new to fishing and I'm trying to learn the different lures And this is perfect so keep up the great work brother!
Do you use weights when fishing chatterbaits?
Wow that great 👍
Great video. Michigan Older Fishing Veteran USMC.
We had a lot of success with a perch coloured chatterbait with a golden blade in sweden when fishing for pike. They were absolutley crushing it!
Good 👍 amazing fhising 🐬🐟👍👍👍👍👍
I JUST moved to chatter baits today. It was 103 today and I landed a 3lb smallie using a strike king chatter with a power bait pit boss as a trailer.
Worked awesome.
