Just as others have mentioned, it does need a dab of oil before you use it https://www.youtube.com/post/UgkxSlytCJqozTF7EbdP4LWP-HUXf9WRDJ0e – put a few drops in through the convenient screw cap and you are good to go! I have fished several weeks with a couple of these, and I will be getting more in the future. I put these against my Abu Garcia Pro Max reel, and they actually perform a bit better than the Abu with some of my lighter cranks, and definitely just as good with the rest of my lures. My Abu is a bit more low profile and fits my hand better, but these are definitely not bad at all. You can almost get 3 of these for the price of my Pro Max. My only complaint is the thumb bar sits pretty high compared to my traditional profile Abu. Bring that thumb bar down a little and Iโm sold on these all day long.
I've got so many fish on Dollar Store lures, it's incredible. In fact, I find many of the cheap lures do better than a twenty dollar swim base.

I have that same swimbait just sitting in my closet I just haven't had a chance to use it yet because all the places I've been fishing lately are filled with algae.

Try using a reel with a high gear ratio. That way you can slow roll and still keep the bait up in the water column

You shouldnโt keep their gills out of the water for more than 15 seconds if your gonna release them back. After that you start causing damage to their gills and their likelihood of survival drops.
