Lake Erie Smallmouth Fishing! I finally made it back up to lake erie to do some smallmouth fishing and the bite was hot! The ticket was finesse swimbait fishing! While most other techniques worked too the finesse swimbait really caught them! It has quickly become one of my favorite baits for lake erie smallmouth fishing and smallmouth fishing in general! We did most of our smallmouth fishing in presque isle bay but ventured out on the lake for a little bit! Lake erie smallmouth fishing in the spring is such a great time to get up there because all the fish are schooled up and really feeding up for the spawn. Presque isle bay is a good place to get started smallmouth fishing as there are many rock piles and other staging areas for these smallmouth and this is were they will spawn.
