I caught a catfish on one of those actually
I've cought my best crappies slabs with this exact rig
Do you hop it like a worm or swim it like a swim jig?
Dude all you did was a Texas rig we all heard of this
You just got my subscription.
Have you put one on a shaky head?
This donkey assumes that because he never used em and never heard of it, that nobody else has. 95% of anglers have used this bait. I used to use em, but then they started making waaaaaay better swim baits since those were released
I fish strictly from the bank here in South Louisiana, and I found out that Texas rigging swim baits was an easy way to run them weedless without ruining the action. I recently tried an ultralight version with only a 1/16 oz weight and it worked really well for me too
I fish a swim bait on a weedless shaky head most of the time. So many options.
I actually flip that exact one in bushes. And I'll swim it out in front em as well
This day and time, it's refreshing to learn from a no bs professional, thanks Randy, keeper comin.
Stop with the clickbait titles everything you show when you say everyone is wrong you will never again … I have done them all for 43 years stop making it sound new and special
You don’t peg the weight?
Love your channel Randy, I appreciate all your knowledge. You’ve definitely helped increase my catch percentage! What ya ya think trying that rig with a 4” #megabasssparkshad
???!!!
The trouble with England fishing not many fish in the sea. Better using the ragworm black lug or crab very expensive. So is the reparler. That is unless you go deep. Peace out
It's like flipping a senko.
Clickbait, unsubstantiated, title.
Excellent way to fish.
I've had great success with it.
WTF are you getting the 95% statistic? 🤦♂️
You're making that number up. 🤣
Thank You
We had a similar pattern back in the 90's flipping Ripper baits, which I think represents the same profile to entice the same bites. I think many of the old baits have the same 'new' attraction to bass, as the new baits.
https://youtube.com/shorts/DPjpCODNsGM?feature=share this is how we run them with our baits
What's up with the ribs on those baits? Why is that better than smoother sided baits?
Honestly, I Texas rig these swimbaits all the time with a 2/0 and 3/0 hook and my hookup ratio is pretty spectacular
I use this bait in summer on a nose hook weightless shallow and fish slow.
2 people responded to my post earlier. LOL. I fished tournaments for 16 years and ALWAYS got a check! Still hate spinner baits and crank baits. Strike king and Yamamoto rule. My opinion.
Going to try this. Thanks for the tip.
I've ALWAYS fished my swimbaits this way, or many times I have. I fish it through milfoil and it has to be as snagless as a rubber worm. Plus when a fish takes it, it doesn't have the resistance of the weight.
I have that mold from Fat Guys Bait Molds. It is a 3.8” Ripper Shad. I pour it in lots of different colors. It is my go to for jigging swimbaits for Walleye up here on the Columbia River in Oregon. I catch a ton of smallmouth on it too. I like it on a 5/8 ounce Erie jig head.
So Randy I have used same set up, same way for ten years, doing same thing, except I use spinning set up, with a long 7 foot fast action rod, flip let it sink , then slow steady retrive. Most time doing what u said fishing shallow, visible structure, flooded bushes, I use it whole spring.
So, rig it like a fluke, gotcha
I’m from Europe and I Started fishing bass about 17-18years ago and actually started with this exact technique…
Thanks for sharing. Please either put a dimmer or a filter on your ceiling lights. It’s painful to watch a person give great information under lighting condition’s like yours.
I throw a swimming fluke on a T rig a lot. Im an urban bank beater and I've come to enjoy a minimalist approach in terms of gear. My go to is the Texas rig if im only taking 1 rod. I can carry a single mixed bag of plastics with a top water toad, swimming flukes and a worm or creature with terminal and leader. It covers the whole column, I can switch presentations without re-tying and it all fits in my pocket.
Hey y’all remember to 👍
The least we can do.
These are great tips RB. thanks!
Awesome stuff, I literally just posted a short tip video on my page yesterday about the exact same thing!!! Only difference is instead of an ewg I use a trokar tube flipping hook
