Walleye Fishing With Jigs and Swimbaits! [Mississippi River, 2025]

Come along for a day of action-packed walleye fishing on the Mississippi River! In this video, I’m using a combination of jigs, swimbaits, and nightcrawlers to target walleye, perch, and northern pike. You’ll see everything from big bites in shallow water to some surprising catches—including a lamprey stuck to a pike, and a couple of keeper walleyes for the bucket.

Fishing conditions were tough at times, but staying adaptable with lure color and presentation paid off. I’ll walk you through my bait choices, hook sets, and even a quick catch and cook prep session at the end.
