Spring Break, 2025. Fishing a new bait (mini swimbaits) in a new stretch of water for some nice Rainbow Trout…Doesn’t get better than that!
I had seen swimbaits put up in other YouTube channels like SeaSpanker and Trout West, and decided to give them a try during a Spring Break run up to Bishop. What followed was some fun fishing- nothing wide open, but good quality and a consistent bite throughout the upper part of Pleasant Valley Reservoir. Lots of fun bites and misses, and some beautiful weather to boot.
The go-to bait was a 2″ Sierra Slammers miniswim in “baby golden” on a 1/16 oz lead head.
Was this upstream from the power plant ?
Great video. The only part worth fishing till opening of the season.
Pretty cool, Matt! Worth the fall.
