Once you fish a small swimbait like a Keitech or Cast Prodigy you’ll never stop using it to catch bass. I’ve been fishing a lot of small swimbaits since the water got cold. It’s one of my favorite techniques to catch fish in winter but it’s becoming pretty popular so making some mods and changes to your swimbait presentation can be critical.

Great Video! Always appreciate your content!
Sad that it is video game fishing.
As usual you nailed it 😂. Leaving FL and going to NC/VA where I think this will work great.
How does it shimmy? Ooh da do do do. Haha. Pay Mikey
Bog is the man chillin back there.
Looks freaking awesome
Out of the box thinking. That’s your strength dude. Don’t ever stop…
That Prodigy makes a great trailer on the Mini-max Chatterbait!
Good video and information
Hey Mikey, I wanted to get that tight shimmy and deeper run so I took a curved jaw toenail clipper and trimmed the sides of a boot tail swimmer's tail just a bit. About 1/16" off each side was enough and It worked! A curved blade fly-tying scissor would probably work as well, but the little half-moon shape cut out by the toenail clipper worked fine to quickly narrow the tail just enough to tighten the action up the way that I was looking for and helping the bait to run deeper upon retrieve without having to slow down so much that the action suffers. Modding lures has been something I have been doing since I was a kid raiding my Dad's tackle box in the 60's. 😁
Excellent information!
Have you experimented with a wacky rig style using these baits? Thinking the bait might fall flatter, with the nail weight inserted.
Just stick a tube jig in that thing and it'll be neutral fall like you want.
That looks exactly how they rigged banjo minnows on TV Mikey, that's awesome!
Love the graph being blurred out to not reveal your location 😂
Great ideas!
Always good content Bro
Great breakdown brother. Those 2 finnesse baits were designed with purpose! Durability, action and unmatched versatility! Stoked to see you maximising the potential of both baits. 🫡
Have you tried the 6th sense treble heads? I use these little swimbaits a ton and that style setup saves a ton of baits and pins fish super well.
Thanks!
Hey Mikey….when you were rigging up with batteries for electronics , did you look into the new trend of 16v battery?
Love dirty little moms.
Good stuff Mikey.
Hey Bog! UniBogacorn!
Great breakdown brother! When we developed the Echo and Prodigy we had these mods in mind. Pushing the boundaries and trying something different has been very successful. Heck we are catching bass on GT lures 😂
I didn't know those little swimbaits had rattles in them. I've been using the 3" hazedong & spark shads. They both swim pretty good in cold water.
Pro tip on this if you get those twist lock keepers ans put that in before you nose hook helps keep the hook from pulling out
Great vid Mike! Why doesn’t Val make their own version of the 2.8 and 3.3 keitech swing fat swim bait?
Mikey check out the t.u.s.h.hook from core tackle ,just what you are trying to do .
excellent Mikey. I love playing with baits and you show some great ideas.
🔥🔥Awesome rig and great idea for the nail weight, thank you Mikey ❤
Enjoyed the intro music
I ‘m highly involved in mods , I bend and tweak most lures to get
what I’m looking for out of a bait
Trying to fish light lures deep , I feel like I’ve lost where the bait is at in the water column. Yes I do a
count down method but don’t care for the doubt feeling .
I cut the hook off of ball head shakey head jigs. With a screw type keeper. Then I can screw that weight onto the bottom of swimbaits.
Good stuff man, got me some finnesse swimbaits today, something i havnt done a lot of. It was good meeting you last Sat as well. Hope to meet again soon👍thanks again!
Love your videos! Do you use a pool and underwater camera to determine how your baits run and how to modify?
Thanks!
