This week I was going to do another cast to catch Friday breakdown video, but I figured I would use this time to answer a few questions I’ve been getting over Instagram/social media on catching fish with the 8inch Hudd. Like I’ve said before. I don’t believe myself to be an expert on the subject, but I have caught a decent amount of fish on the bait and wanted to express to you guys my findings as well as give you guys some tips to catch your first fish on the Hudd.

every hud video talks like everyone is fishing rocky bottom lakes in California and you can bounce it off bottom. here in the northeast the bottoms are mucky leaf covered bottoms with loads of weeds everywhere and if you are bouncing bottom you will have a handful of weeds on the hud in 10'. so how do i catch my first hud fish with this situation?
It took me 5 hrs straight then I finally got my first one and it was a 3 pounder also!

Just bought a 8inch ROF 5 and I have a 2-5oz x-heavy st croix bass x rod (the new models), so you think that will be fine to throw it?
Being a lure junkie, Hudds are such cool baits! 8" ROF 0 Hudd…catching 1 on slow wakin' an 8" Hudd on the surface…new goal..ever tried the ROF 0 floater?
Which do you consider a better swimbait lake, Berryessa or Clear lake? Specifically for the hudd or in general

Fishing from shore two months ago, I threw the 8 inch hudd for my first time. I saw a 6-7 lber. follow it, but it turned at the bank. The conditions were prime. I haven't got bit since, but I'll get one eventually. Thanks for the info.
