thank you for sharing your hard earned years of knowledge with us !!!! i appreciate your videos so much as a tournament fisherman. tight lines everyone!
Randy whats your go to 1oz spinner bait to add these to?
That color jig is not available at this time at Baitwrx. Good info. Thanks
The jig is king of big bass!
Most bank anglers don't use jigs because they're considered to be heavy and bulky bottom contact lures, just waiting to get snagged within the first few casts. The smart ones know to use the lighter heads. Not necessarily finesses jigs, but simply just standard sized jigs with lighter/smaller lead heads. They can be difficult to find because they are not given the priority by manufacturers and dealers. The, comparatively few, lighter jigs that are produced and sold are usually snatched up as soon as they become available by boaters and bank anglers alike. That just makes it more difficult for most bank anglers to get a fair start at using them. But a select group know that it's up to them to find solutions, instead of depending on others and waiting around for their solutions to be sold to them. Making your own skirted jigs has got to be the easiest and most affordable kind of Bass Fishing lure to make. So there's really no excuses for not having them as part of your line up. It's a great and very easy way to level up on your game.
I’ve caught tons of fish on spinnerbaits. One of them won me 8000$ dollars in june. We caught 4/5 on the final day of my tournament with a large blade spinnerbait. The 5th was on a jig in thick weeds. At 20lb 8oz it was officially the biggest tournament bag ever caught in our league (Canada, we don’t get 10lb largies up here, most of our fishing is smallies, and 4.5lbs is a big fish). . I caught a 5lb 1oz and a 4lb12oz that day, and they were the biggest fish of the tournament. My Partner caught the other 2 fish which rounded out our bag. On spinnerbaits as well.
Your old school jig looks very nice. But, way too expensive @ $10
ditto here, had the jig #1
ALL of the biggest Bass that I've ever caught, within the last 4 decades, have fallen victim to the almighty Spinnerbait!!! I just love the way Big Bass Hammer Spinnerbaits, especially when you can see the Bass hit the bait… Now just like Rando here, the Jig has also came in a very close 2nd for me as well for ripping some serious lips on Big Bass… But, unlike the Spinnerbait, the Jig can also be fished in just about ANY water or weather condition no matter what the water color / clarity is and or what the water temp is hot or cold, winter or summer, and in all depths including being able to catch more and bigger Bass anytime anywhere throughout the year, say like in the cold or boiling hot water the Jig WILL and can out produce the Spinnerbait.
Thx Randy!
FISH-ON!!!
Was flipping channels today and came across Lake Champlain and watched one angler fishing. He actually made the statement, "We would not be finding and catching these fish without Livescope." I soon changed it to Little League World Series…
The black and blue jig is hard to beat for big bass. This color combo beats all the other colors ive used. Super confidence lure for sure. Shore line wood or big rocks and deep points. Always catch them on this. I like big carolina worms better on big points just because you can cover more water. But that jig catches the big ones for sure.
Man I love the way those skirts fall on your Old School Jig, ones I buy get all tangled, I’ll be getting some for sure.
You’re supposed to say “BIGGUN” 😂☺️
Me too. Thanks for sharing. Jimmy Houston, too, shares your success with the spinnerbait.
Dude it's gotta be the jig and the t rig worm for me. But for moving baits that get bigs, spinnerbait, buzzbait, chatterbait, lipless, swimming jig.
One of my very favorite powerfishing lures is a big spinner. I've caught nice fish on Johnson beetle spins while bluegilling as well.
Spinners are just super versatile lures.
Spinnerbait , one of the best baits ever made , I like to throw it with a single willow blade but a number 7 hilderbrandt only
4 or better i dont know lol but 8 or better and my money maker has been full size chatterbait the OG. Ive had a few 5 pounders on that exact jig you're showing off Randy.
Randy, I believe the word is "hawg" in the Bass fishing world…just sayin
Outside of tournaments
What 3 baits would have
To catch fish
Dead on the money with this one randy
I am 40 and NEVER fished a jig up until this June bc i never had confidence in them . I decided to try them and on my 3rd cast i caught a 5lber on the dot in about 29 feet of water off a rip rap bank. In the following two weeks i caught 2 more 4lbers and numerous 3s all on the same jig. Needless to say its my favoritw lure now 😂
Couldn’t agree with you more, buddy turned me on to big spinnerbait this past spring and the quality of fish catches on big obnoxious spinnerbait was unbelievable
Big swimbaits soft or hard has produced most of my big ones, then big worms like 10" bull worms & similar profiles, then frogs. I've never had any confidence with jigs! I finally tied one on month ago & have been fishing it a decent amount. I caught my first jig fish recently! It wasn't big but it's a first & a start. I need order couple of your jigs. For big bites on bottom. If you could only have 2 of your jigs which 2 colors would you choose? Black& blue tensile & green pumpkin or a brown??
Easy….big worms and big topwaters!!!! I also agree with a big spinner bait!!
