  1. Hearing your comment about the trout color made me want to share some info from my experiences. I fish south/central Louisiana, and have used a multitude of patterns on my baits. Mostly stick to shad, but i’ve used rainbow trout and a brown trout color. I have actually had better luck some days on trout patterns compared to a natural color such as shad, bluegill, etc. This may just be right place right time, but thats my observations

  2. Next time try fishing two hard swimbaits or two soft swimbaits because they both have different actions from each other and they each work in different situations

  3. That Matzuo bait is stupid good for a cheap swimbait. Storm makes good soft swimbaits as well for far less than Hudds cost. Biggest bass I landed in the last couple years came on that cheapy bait. The paint flakes off if you fish it enough but I don't think the fish care. I'm fishing in Oregon not far from where you came from, FWIW. Matzuo makes a 5 inch version of that same bait you can throw on lighter tackle, and immitates smaller baitfish well.
