This bass fishing video explains how to fish a swimbait. Matt uses a Huddleston Deluxe for the example but these basic retrieves can be used for every swimbait for bass or even saltwater species like Calico Bass.
Many bass fisherman are afraid to cast a swimbait. Their size is intimating and it makes it difficult for anglers to believe they can work. If you use these 3 simple retrieves you’ll gain confidence quickly and begin catching big bass on swimbaits sooner. Its not rocket science, any fisherman can do this. If you throw the bigger baits and stick to it, your turn to catch a monster bass will come sooner than you expect!

What ROF
I am so glad I watched this. You validated what I have always thought. I have irritated more bass into attacking a buzzbait. I wanted to ask, slow sinking? How slow is slow. I have a 6 inch 6th sense slow sink swimbait. What is the seconds to feet ratio?
Just ordered my first Huddleston. Gonna give it a go ! N. Texas area.
Great informational video
I from New York I wonder where I could throw a Huddleston ….
Anyone recommend the Huddleston SWAMPTHING weedless im here where lots of pike minnows.
What color would you throw in a lake in Central IL?
Great tips! God bless!
If I'm in a hoodie and I start sweating by 9am I'm like " oh put on the Hud."🤣
I haven't caught anything on a hudd
I have a Powell max 765 you think that's too light to throw Huds I'm gonna pair it with a shmianno Calcutta
Best ROF?
AT THAT SPEED I COULD PAINT A TENNIS SHOE LIKE A TROUT AND PUT HOOKS ON IT, ITD BE THE SAME THING
And I thought spybaiting was slow. This is killin' me slow…
Everyone talks about top-water blow up's but they aren't anything like a bass hitting the Megabass Magdraft 6'' swimbait.
Thank you!
Re-watch #10, just for a reminder! Always good to review the basics.
Amazing video!!! Learn so much from you. Lately ive been using the 5 inch savage gear trout swimbait and got a damn solid 3 pounder! Thanks to you guys I learned two more ways to fish these types of giant swimbait!! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
I use it as a wake bait often. Reeling medium speed with a high rod tip.
I’ve never thrown a large swimbait but I am definitely going to gear up for next year
What depth water do you fish these?
