I wonder if the fury 806 would be good for slinging 2-3oz weights for redfish and a khale hook.
Over a decade later, Matt do you still find this to be true? I notice you guys use the 5-6 power Loomis a lot these days
Can you please show, how to cast heavy Lures? I mean the right technique. Thanks a lot
I have a 7 foot 10 heavy action rod for flipping and punching .can I use it with a 6in Megabass freestyle Magdraft on a 3/8oz belly hook? The rod is rated at 3/8 to 1 1/2 oz.
It is now…Daiwa DX swimbait rod
SUPERB explanation !
nice mullet
Hey Matt I was just curious did you film that at your work or where
7 years ago
I have a budget of 50 Australian dollar and I want to throw swim baits from 1 ounce to 4 ounce what is a good choice
Thank you tight lines.
Any suggestions for a swimbait I can throw on a medium heavy curado 7’6?
Hey Matt is the Fury 8 foot Swimbait rod similar to the champion 806? For treble hook baits like the s waver or bullshad?
Hey man your rods are smushed
Noob question here. That 806 is it a champion?
I am looking for a rod for small swimbait like a 5 inch max what rod do you think would be good for me also what is a good pond wakeing rat
@tacticalbassin just picked up and 807 champion xp, for throwing 8-10 in huds… that's not overkill is it?
Hey Matt/Tim, I have a 795 and an 806 and I'm looking to add a third rod for throwing the Deps 250 and 8 inch Hudds. I also want this rod to be able to throw some smaller hard baits, say down to about 3 oz (9 inch Slammer and S-Waver 200). I don't wanna go with the 867 or 908 due to storage issues. Would you recommend the 807? Or is it gonna be too stiff for treble hook baits? Thanks!
Can I throw the Deps 250 with a Dobyns 806 Swimbait rod???
Thanks for this video, I just got my Dobyns 806 Swimbait rod and I absolutely love it. Great action!
Hey Matt, I'm looking into getting 1 or 2 swimbait rods. I live in Jersey so I don't have much need for the big baits that you guys like to throw. I'm thinking about the 795, and 806 in the fury line mostly for the price point. I already have a Calcutta 401d and want to try the tranx 301. I don't see myself throwing anything over 3-4 oz. I have a few jointed swimmers and picked up a couple glide baits as well. I guess my question is am I on the right track with the rod purchases for what I am going to be fishing with?
I'm an ugly stick kind of guy but I really liked your vid good info thank you.
can you use big swimbait rods fo catfishing
thank you so much. your videos are great. got my PB on your California Swim jig setup.
what is the best dobyns rod for throwing gan craft 303 9 ounce bait?
I don't understand the 5 power or 0 power of a rod means. what is the power? also from 7ft medium to 7'6" extra heavy what do you throw a swim bait with? do you want the heavy or extra heavy or do you want medium to med heavy
what rod would you use for a deps 250 at 6 Oz? I ordered an 806 but it might not be Stout enough
Matt, you help me out a ton and I need your help again! Im looking to purchase a dobyn mainly for the 8inch huds. Do you still recommend the 807? What about the 867?
Do you still feel the same way about the 806? I'm looking to throw 6-7" Bull Shads, Deps 175, S-waver 168, etc. Have you seen any issues with the LH version negatively changing the action of the rod?
If you could only buy one swimbait rod which one would you buy. I know it won't be perfect for all but can get the job done.
I love all those rods. I own all of them and use them day in and day out on the water. the only thing I would is on the 908 and 807 I want a little longer handle behind the real. only reason is I'm tall with long arms and like a handle I can tuck into my side when setting the hook and fighting fish.
Out of curiosity, what did the "prototype" rod end up being….908?
which one would be the best for the OG 250 and 8" punker
so would the 795 or the 806 be the best rod to throw 316 wake jrs with?
I don't know but to me all the rods look to have a parabolic bend
do you think these babys would handle chucking musky gear all day?? i use dobyns for all my bass gear but im debating on upgrading my musky gear!! thanks!!
