How to rig Gambler Big EZ's and EZ Swimmers (soft-plastic swimbaits)

This a great setup for covering water and fishing for both staging and bedding fish. As they move up thru fairly skinny water you can follow them thru what tends to be some pretty gnarly cover while at same time triggering reaction bites from already bedding fish. I usually try to start with it on top, blazing it pretty quickly over whatever cover I’m fishing – I may pause it in holes or after I run into something. Depending on how the fish react, I can slow down to a point where the bait is slow rolling 6″ to a foot under the surface. Make sure you’re throwing this on braid – especially around cover (one little trick to keep it on top is to use heavier braid – 65#, the line floats in the first place and the wider diameter adds a bit more buoyancy).
