When the waters cold if I want to throw a swimbait, ill put something like a Gambler Big-Ez on a weedless texas rig setup and just drag it across the bottom super slow. Those big hard plastics in super cold water fall short if you cant work them like a jerkbait.

I used to fish the occoquan 25 years ago , I just had a trolling motor and would rent a jonh boat there. Great to see it's still a great fishing spot. It's Soo big with only 10 hp limit on the motor , but it has a lot of opportunities. Loved the submerged dam. Keep up the great vid
done well on the shine glider for pike fished really slow, could be worth a shot giving it ago for the musky

Hey dude,
When using those swimbaits with the heavier line I'd be using a loop knot
I find anything over 20lb really impedes the action if you don't use a loop knot
I love the concept of only using certain lures for a fun tournament! My son and I have done this to get better at fishing certain lures!

I love big swimbaits, and catch plenty of big fish with them. They can be expensive though and my heart sinks every time I snag one. Plus they are pretty heavy and will let you know very quick if your knot sucks 🙁
