Relatively new to fishing period but it was part of my PTSD treatment. I loved it from the start and now I fish as much as I can. I immediately was drawn to swimbait/glide bait fishing. So to make a long story short my first SB combo was the Dobyns Fury 806 with a Piscifun 300. I was told to go big and it fit my budget. I love it and it has caught me a lot of fish so far. I now have several different combos but that was a good start for me. I hope that's not bad info and love the videos.
Being willing to go 3-4 hours without a bite is a big separator between those who catch bigs and those who don't. Great stuff!
How do you deal with hang ups? Any tips
as a florida fisherman, you ain't wrong. big bait = big fish. sometimes we use big saltwater baits for freshwater, they work.
Great video….. ok I what a glide bait to try in Lake Norman and near by lakes. If I go with the Clutch Eco , This the Gizzard color the best. Or should I change?
What color is that Clutch OG? We have a lot of Gizzard Shad here on Douglas Lake.
Appreciate all the information you pack into your videos! Always enjoy hearing your tips and takes on techniques, bait selection, etc.
Hey what do you think of the new abs trick shad Austin?
I think the thing about bigger glides is the huge splash when you cast people feel they scare everything away
I’m definitely guilty of bringing an entire tackle store when I hit the lake. That said, I’ve made an executive decision a couple of years ago to narrow down what techniques I plan on fishing on a given day. A couple of big swimbaits, coupled glides, maybe a wacky rig set up and a Texas rig for example. Or, depending upon the time of year, a couple of blade baits, couple of jerk baits, along with my big bait gear! I catch more fish and, get more proficient while spending for time with less gear this way!
r2s 200 is not a bad place to start if you're not willing to spring for more than $50 on your first swimbait. Trick Shad or chad shad is very much worth the investment though.
What size & type line do you prefer for 8-10" baits?
Now when do you throw these big baits …
I lost the majority of my bait casting combos in the lake last year except for my glide bait rod, because it floats 😅, and if that wouldve never happened i wouldnt of made it to this point with glide baits. The consistent use of them has just boosted my fish over 5 pounds, im learning way more about bass, and there is nothing like it…. Absolutely nothing like it. If you guys wanna check out some hand tuned custom glides check out biggs, all under 100$
No joke 50th time somebody please make a video lunch twist on the glide bait
