Big Pike LOVE Swimbaits!

I’ve caught more big pike fishing swimbaits than any other lure! On this trip I’m in the kayak chasing northern pike on what might be one of the last open water adventures of the year before winter weather moves in and the lakes start freezing over. The water was cold and the fishing was tough but hard work paid off with a few big bites!

  1. I can't watch any more of your vidoes…. considering I don't catch any fish at all, and use the same lures, the same techniques, the same etc……. Living in the part of the country where wildlife thrives, it's depressing to live where I do.

  2. His videos just flat out relax the hell out of me. Makes me want pack mother in the truck and move to North Dakota. Great fishing and even greater videos. Thank you.

  3. So has this become your top Pike lure? What are your top three (in order) Pike lures and in what brand, pattern or color? Ex. "8' swim bait in pike pattern from Michał in Poland" or even just "3/4 oz white spinner bait" etc.

  4. I want to catch a pike so badly. Stumbling upon your channel is a blessing. Love the videos. Great commentary. Nothing flashy. Just fishing. Will keep you updated. I've gotten a ton of lures and getting the correct poles and reels.

  5. 09.31 I really hope I catch a big Pike today…….boom straight away a nice pike…..you never skunk (blank) think I'm guna buy one of those Savage Gear Swimbaits for sure 😎 tight lines man 🎣🐊😎💯🤟

  6. Any tips on casting those bigger swim baits ? Your making your casts look effortless,,, I bought two of those baits and they seem to cast like crap,,, wind catchers if you know what I’m saying . Thank you.

  8. I can see in your specifications that you use a rod St Croix Bass X 6´6´´to cast a lure Savage Gear 4 Play 8´´. This puzzles me since the lure weight range for that rod is 3/8-1 oz. and you are casting a lure that weighs …2.3 oz! I would like to know if you feel totally comfortable casting that big weight with that particular rod or, on the contrary, have a feeling that it might break apart at any moment if you impart only just a little excess of power in your casting.
Finally I would like to say that you are among my favourite fishing youtuber if not my favourite at all. As a matter of fact it has been you who hooked me into swimbait fishing!!!
    Best regards from Spain.

  9. I watch your videos when I can’t go fishing because they’re so calm and cool without cuts and music… it’s like we’re just chillin on a boat. Don’t ever change your format!

  10. Someone else referred to you as the “Bob Ross of fishing”. I would LOVE to see you do a video where every time you show your face, you’re wearing a Bob Ross wig, and never mention it and act like it’s just not there.

  11. wouldn't you rather have a bit of sport in reeling them in with monofilament rather than just winching them in with 30lb line? I use 6lb monofilament and have caught anywhere between 5 -15 lb pike at my spot, a little pond along side the river than runs through town. It just seems more sporting to give them a chance to run and fight (within reason).
