Jon hellgrammites are really good for stream smallmouths and may be the best bait for Redeye /goggleye that there is,, I like to use the bigger ones that you catch up on shore,,look under large rocks close to the water but where its dry in early summer you find hellgrammites just before they molt into the flying version,,they will be much bigger than those found in the stream,,4-5 inches is about average for them at that stage and they are leathery tough,, Ive caught several fish on a single bait,,,I prefer using rooster tails or rebel wee r crawfish crankbaits when wade fishing , but during slow bites you can always count on hellgrammites to catch a few,,they put out a scent wich also seems to attract redeye like nothing else,,,also keep up the good work,, i enjoy your videos much more than most of those out nowdays,,,oh how you managed to fish with that kid (apbassing ) without throwing him out of the boat is a miracle,,lol,, he could use some more growing up imo.
