  1. It doesn't always help, but sometimes you can soften a bait up by boiling a pot of water, taking it off the heat source, throwing in the baits and just let them cool slowly with the water down to room temperature. Make sure that there's enough room in the pot that the baits can sit nice n straight.

This also works to straighten out baits that have gone crooked in the package.

  2. Pretty awesome challenge. My first good river smallmouth ever came on a 6”trash fish. I think I caught 3 within 15 minutes. Not giants but it definitely gave me confidence.

  3. Nice size comparison between lure size and number of bites. I haven’t used paddle tails much but recently got some through subscription boxes. I also don’t tend to catch a lot of smallies, usually I get largemouth.

    Thanks! Nice video.

A video of structure and/or water temp/clarity, and lure choice might be interesting. I know there are a few out there but would like your view on it. Perhaps you already have done one… will have to look through your video library.

  4. Nathan that was a fun watch! I fish for smallmouth in the Pacific Northwest and I always feel like your content is very relevant to what I experience here. I would love to see more glidebait content as well as BFS crank baits just to cover the wide range. Tight lines Nathan!
