The bass are big and the bite is on fire! Let’s go fishing!! Come along with us for a fun day on the water as we explore a new lake! It doesn’t take long to find out there are both Largemouth and Smallmouth in this lake, and things really take a turn when Matt figures out they’ll eat the Magdraft Swimbait!
It’s always a challenge to find fish in a new lake. Step one is to fish likely locations, step two is to build a pattern, step three is to repeat. On this day it doesn’t take long to find some aggressive Smallmouth, but thankfully Matt and CC didn’t settled there and kept hunting, because the story of this lake is quality largemouth!
Below you’ll find links to the exact baits and gear we used throughout the day. From the baits, to the colors, to the map card we’re using to find the points, we’ve linked it, to help you fish with confidence on your location fisheries. All the links go directly to Tackle Warehouse where you can see detailed photos and descriptions of each item.

I love the fishing vids.
Nice to see CeCe out having fun too.
🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌
Yeah, it’s too bad CC didn’t bring her rods.
She knows you need all 28 of your rods plus their backups ready at all times.
I bet she didn’t have any Magdrafts anyways.
great to see the boss out there with you. hope this vid is one that falls under "magical moments become treasured memories" and how truly blessed the family is
windy day = swim baits💯
Matt reeling in four pounders like they're Crappie 😂😂
What kind of rod do I need as someone that wants one all around casting rod to use for everything? I have a 100 dollar prebuilt rod that is fun to use, but lacks sensitivity and just feels cheap. I watched some of your combo vids and was thinking about getting the Daiwa Tatula XT for a rod and the Daiwa Fuego CT for my reel. My budget is 200-250. Just looking for something that is versatile. Thanks so much for all the help!
Always helping me find the perfect gear and colors to use to target fish. Recently moved close to a reservoir that has giant pike in it. Put the pause on bass fishing to try and target a 30in + pike
Was wondering if a back hooked line through swimbait works well in the summer offshore
Great video. Love to hear the logic you use to hunt 'em.
Love the vids with CC, great one again…
A few times you guys catch fish and throw them back without even seeing their blind or missing an eye. Probably the 3rd time I've seen now
You could have handed off the mag draft set up to Cici ❤🥰
Agreed
Nice you two!! Magdraft ya say?
It's always great when Cece catches them too. I hope you didn't intentionally not bring a MagDraft rod for her. I do have friends? that would do that in a minute. Y'all really had an exceptional day on the water. Particularly since you had never been there before.
Great to see CC getting to spend time on the boat with you Matt!
Kind of funny, I was throwing that Okashira screw head and a Dark Sleeper yesterday. Caught fish on both. Largemouth seem to love a white dark sleeper when they're on a ball of shad. I do have problems keeping them pinned with it though. Lost quite a few even though I think im keeping pressure on them. Maybe someone has some tips and knows what im doing wrong. Heavier tackle and set the hook hard or lighter tackle and baby them in?
“Naw I’m good”
…proceeds to break off.
I don’t think u can keep making these videos my pockets runnin low😂
"Welcome back to Tactical Pikin"
Long time been the best bass fishing information PERIOD. I've got probably 300 bass over 5 pounds in the last 15 years and I owe it all to you guys. Thanks TB family!
Awesome video looks like Michigan water
This particular magdraft abdolutely blows. Half the time you reel it in and its just laying on its side the whole way. There are much better soft swimbaits out there like a citizen.
Oh that weak escuse for sabotaging your wife's catches 😂. We know she can outfish you dude; no shame in that.
I went to a new lake this past Saturday and got absolutely SKUNKED 😅
The P5 series of rods are awesome.. the x-bites is what i use for all my jigs and soft plastics
Can you answer a question for me why do both of my 6 inch magdrats swim head down tail up looks ridiclous. Any tips
Matt/Tim, Can we get a new frog vid?
Glad to see you two back out fishing 🎣 together!!!!🎉
In what situation would you use a Okashira screw head vs something like a underspin for smallmouth.

Which hook are you using Matt on the magdraft?
I enjoyed the addition of seeing the map at the type of spot you were fishing and catching fish. I have not previously heard you discuss the pros and cons of Megabass P5 Destroyer Mark 56. An updated video on rods, reels, line, leader, strategies, and large swimbaits would be interesting to see.
Matt, in your comments during the video, you said your Magdraft rod was a Mk "58". In the details listed it says Mk 56. The reason I ask is that I have two P5 Mk 56's. I use them for lighter glides and the DRT Tiny Klash. Hoping it's the Mk 56 for the Magdraft, if that works it would be great! Please advise. Thanks for all you guys do for us.
Matt I swear to God you have one of the hardest swings and fastest reaction time on fish for setting the hook that I've seen true powerhouse my friend.
Hey Matt, I have a challenge for you. We have a highland reservoir that most people struggle with catching bass. Really any fish for that matter. We have some big largemouth but for whatever reason few people can succeed at catching them regularly. Why is this particular body of water so tough? Please do a video here.
Could y’all make videos on how to break down flats and points I fish them all the time but rarely catch fish
Your wife knows her stuff fun to watch. Bassmd
Matt, glad you and CC got a baby sitter and got on the water together! Nice you didn’t lose a lot of lures to those pike!
I'm going yo start slow rolling the 6" Magdraft freestyle in deeper 10-20 fow alongside deep cranks this year on the main channels of Percy Priest, since no one else applies this tech, gonna rig with 3/8 and 1/2 oz belly weighted Owner Beast Hook and Beast Flashy swimmer…rod and reel pairing will be an OG Daiwa Z2020H, 20lb Sufix Elite, and a Gamakatsu Luxxe Efreet B74XH-F rsted up to 2.5 oz (that rod is crazy light and powerful and weighs in at 4.15 oz and crazy sensitive and dual action regular fast taper)…I think braid + leader would be too powerful for even the 8/0 hooks, thats why I'm running 20lb mono.
These are my favorites. Good ol fishing videos with advice thrown in between catches. No doubt they could be successful fishing 'pro' like bass or mlf but they seem successful exactly what they're doing, which is what i like to watch. And ive never seen them cut off other anglers and talking $hit like ike and the rest of them. Wheeler was my favorite 'pro' until he pulled jis shit with a 40 lb lead. Matt and Tim just enjoy fishing, are competitive towards each other but in a frieny way. Wgat bass fishing or just fishing in general should be like.😂
We need the ladies of TB to do another video together. Last time they were in one was years it seems like and they were slinging ARigs! I can’t wait to see a TB kid win the BassMaster Classic! 😂
