Hello. Please take it witha grain of salt: looks like you are trying to reinvent the wheel. Bait mnufactures already sell “ ribbed” plastic swimbait. Nice modification though.
Been to Cabelas, Bass Pro can't find lure dyes, markers, etc.? Seen Roland & Bill do some with fingernail polish. Seems to me the smell alone would scare them off???🤔
One trick I figured out speckle trout fishing it to cut some of the plastic off of the main body where it meets the tail. Adds insane action with lighter jigheads and slower presentations.
Never trust someone with a particle board ceiling in their house.
Drop it in a glass of water and show people what it looks like in the water after they add any subtle color to any soft plastic. It shows up way more underwater!
After the mods, I feel like you catch one fish and that bait is done. OK for a pro angler, but not everyday joe.

Randy does the cutting into the swimbait apply even on hollow bellies? If you cut all the way through and penetrate into the belly cavity does it affect the swimbait in a negative form?
