Swimbait Flies – Hook Selection for Bass

Hey Guys,

I had a amazing opportunity to head down to Mexico and fish Lake Picachos with Nomadic Waters Expeditions and wanted to take the opportunity to Showcase the PR378 GB Predator Swimbait Hook and a few Observation with its application for Buck Mouth Species.

Hope you enjoy

  1. Great stuff as always Gunnar appreciate everything you do! Do these flies foul much while casting or fishing? Have you found that they become less snag resistant as you add weight? I’m designing some pretty cool baits around this platform and if they work I’ll mail you one or send you an email about it with some pictures.

  2. Nice. Swimbait style hooks truly are magical, especially when rigged right. Have you ever actually fished a properly rigged swimbait (like a Zoom Fluke) on that PR378? It might provide some inspiration re: fly design? Tight lines.
