How To

Homemade SWIMBAIT (silicone lure mold)

In this video I show how to make a homemade fishing mold for a swimbait lure. Lure molding is great when you carve a lure and dont want all that work to go to waste. This homemade swimbait makes a great fishing mold, and I think I will be able to catch a big fish on it soon.

  1. Just come accross your channel and watched your 2 most recent videos. Great looking lure and decoy mate, the rinkled alloy for the decoy fins looks cool.. haven't seen that before. That lure works really well. Could definitely make a few different versions of it, sinking, suspending, bibs ect. Nice work đź‘Ť

  2. Two things I don't usually see others do, but I thought was quite clever; lining the mold before pouring and vibrating the mold after pouring… a couple of simple things that could yield a slightly better master.

A dressed treble looks really good as it trails, but can damper the action of a lure in the water. Your lure design has plenty enough action that the tail treble is dancing all the way home.

Only suggestion I have at the moment is about the 480p video quality. It would be really great to see at least 1080p. Although I can still see and tell most of what is going on, the grainy, fuzzy, blurry back-note to the feed is visually noticeable throughout the video. That aside, great stuff!
