Today I’m doing some fall bass fishing with a texas rig swimbait, a yum money minnow. I switched to the swimbait after a slow start missing one fish on the crankbait. But shortly after changing lures I was hooked up with a fish. At first I thought I had a big bass, but it turned out to be a drum. After moving and continuing to throw the swimbait, I hook up with another fish. This time it was the largemouth bass I was looking for. Fall fishing can be a bit tough, but maybe a Texas rig Swimbait is the way to go.

I want to get some of the money minnows but they are kinda expensive. I like the slot in the belly and the colors they come in but I’m going to have to find some on sale if I ever get them. Are they the same scented plastic as the rest of the YUM products?
Just getting into swimbaits really like seeing how the subtle approach to reeling back the bait works.
Nice bass, nice outing. I gotta try some swimbaits. Notice how far up that TX rigged swimbait went up your line? I mean, I get the initial action, the fish bites and that kind of smooshes it up over the eye of the hook …. but why does it continue to crawl up the line lol I might be dumb but I just don't understand yet how it keeps going up the line 🙂
run some Seafoam through that motor. Will keep it clean from carbon build up

Freshwater drum, aka sheephead are a ton of fun to catch! As far as the bass fishing goes is there deep water where you're fishing in that lake? Fish might still be deep relating to the first breakline to deep water. I'm still catching fish in 20 to 30 feet of water right now waiting for the fish to go shallow. Then they're generally there until ice up and then school up and go deep and lay low for the winter.
Been having a super hard time at my regular fishing spot. First of all there's only room for 2 people max from the bank; tullies literally make it impossible from any other spot, and it's highly pressured so it can be tough to even get a spot to fish. Secondly, all the float tubers agree that you need a float tube to have success there as the fish stay in the tullies. So, one guy was kind enough to hint to another nearby spot that I had no idea existed. I went on Google maps and confirmed another body of water. Driving by, in the distance, it looks like it would be a nightmare to get anywhere nearby let alone fish it because it looks overgrown, and far from any roads as well. Well, it was actually easy to get there and a lot more wide open than my first spot. I didn't catch anything my first time there, but hopefully my luck will be turning soon. The place was absolutely gorgeous too. It pays to get out and talk to guys and Google maps can be a valuable resource to finding little hidden gems if you don't live near a ton of water.

1986 2-stroke on original piston & rings? As preventive maintenance you should probably have new top end installed. Otherwise it could be a lot more expensive if you have to replace cylinder head.
